The Reality

In Canada, 1 in 3 girls drops out of sport by the time she reaches her late teens. Boys? 1 in 10.

By age 16, as many as 62% of Canadian girls are not playing sport at all.

And in Canadian boardrooms and leadership offices? Women hold just 30.5% of board seats at TSX-listed companies. At the executive officer level, progress has been described as "glacially slow."

The gap between where women are and where we should be is not a coincidence. It is a system and we are here to change it.

Women in Power

The North of 60 Community recognizes the power of women-led initiatives. We have witnessed what happens when women are given the resources, platform, and chance to lead.

A first-of-its-kind women's basketball tournament. A historic feat happening at home, in Yellowknife. Bringing six university teams, hundreds of young athletes, and an entire community together. Organized, driven, and championed for women by women.
